The duo Lone Project consists of singer Michel van Dijk and guitarist Ferdinand Bakker, who had international success together with the progressive rock group
Alquin in the seventies. Let It Rain On Me is already the fourth album of the gentlemen in this duo formation. Although both have already passed the age of seventy, they still have enough to tell musically. Van Dijk's experienced voice sounds
… inspired and bluesy. Partly thanks to Bakker's guitar skills, some songs are reminiscent of J.J. Cale, while the strong finale The Lighthouse has a Rolling Stones-like sound. Soul influences can also be heard. Bakker and Van Dijk understand the art of using these ingredients to form something that sounds its own. The songs breathe both the calmness and craftsmanship that the years of experience have brought. Precisely the fact that the men have nothing more to prove, results in a convincing and atmospheric record. (JV)more
