… series titled Explorations Into Microtonal Tuning. The use of microtones - tones not found in the Western twelve-tone system - immediately reminds many listeners of Middle Eastern music and at first seems little compatible with Western pop. King Gizzard's explorations prove absolutely the opposite: the unusual tones are striking at first, but fit seamlessly into the adventurous mix of all sorts of different flavours of rock music.
