After Barcelona and Budapest, George Ezra visited no other cities for a while on his second album
Staying At Tamara's (2019). This time around, the Brit is traveling again, as Manila graces the tracklist this time around (and he travels a bit further in Fell In Love At The End Of The World). Gold Rush Kid kicks off with Ezra's genial guitar music, which doesn't really change for nearly the entire
… album. Here and there Ezra takes it easy, but "easy-going" is the key word on this album, just as it was on Staying At Tamara's. A little more variation in moods and musical approach would have been welcome, as Ezra clings completely to the combination of stringed instruments. Effective it certainly is, but exciting not so.
