This is the successor to Angélique Kidjo's successful CD , who gave her an invitation to Parkpop in The Hague. The singer from Benin made use of musicians from her own country for this album, which gives the ten songs a more African atmosphere. Recordings were made in Benin by traditional musicians such as percussionists, flutists and backing singers; these were later mixed in Paris, among others.
It is also a journey back to the music of her youth, just listen to Sound Of The Drums and Welcome. The Afro-funk on this CD adorns Kidjo with indigenous gospel, Latin swing and voodoo sounds.
