The centerpiece of Echobelly is the charming singer Sonya Aurora Madan. With her lovely, girlish voice she takes the typical Britpop sound of the band (many and especially loud guitars) to a higher level. Lustra is the band's third album and the follow-up to 1995's On. Production was in the hands of Gil Norton, the man who previously accompanied acts such as The Pixies, Echo & the Bunnymen and
… the Foo Fighters. The solid I'm Not A Saint, the stubborn Everyone Knows Better, in which Madan's voice suddenly looks a lot like Björk's and the quiet Paradise make Lustra a strong, cheerful and varied album. (WvdZ)more
