Finally a hip-hop CD that rises above the gray masses. The second album by member Ol 'Dirty Bastard, the follow-up to 1995's , is an experience. Of course, all expected elements are present: bare, angular beats, minimal samples and aggressive lyrics, but ODB goes the extra mile on all fronts. His beats are fatter, his samples more interesting and his spoken and screamed raps are far from boring.
The guest appearances on N *** a Please also cut wood. Highlights are Got Your Money, thanks to the beautiful choirs by , and by sung soul ballad parody Good Morning Heartache. N *** a Please: anarchic, harsh, ruthless and one of the best rap albums of 1999. (WvdZ)more
