Although the attention of the general public was mainly on the singers of the band, Lindsey Buckingham was the driving force and brain of Fleetwood Mac, that is to say the successful reincarnation of the mid-1970s. On this DVD, a recording of a concert with a band at the Bass Performance Hall in Texas, he alternates songs from his four solo albums with the most famous Fleetwood Mac hits of his hand,
… such as Second Hand News, Big Love and Go Your Own Way. Buckingham proves to be an excellent guitar player, who starts the concert convincingly with beautiful arpeggio playing. In the same naked songs, however, his limitation as a singer also appears. Stripped of wide-ranging background vocals and studio trickery, he appears to have only a hoarse and voluminous voice. The documentary offers a glimpse into the psyche of the man, a serious and ambitious man who, despite his enormous successes in the past, is still tormented by self-doubt. The bonus CD contains the songs from the concert. (MS)more
