While making music with Brian Eno during (2008), David Byrne had an idea for a tour. To translate this new album into a live show, a choreographer had to be hired. She brought a couple of dancers with her and also taught the singer and his backing chorus a few routines. Everyone liked the result and so a concert film could not be left behind. It all fits wonderfully well with Byrne's mind. He is
… always progressive and sometimes seems to be working on the next masterstroke in his head. That sometimes makes it inaccessible, not to say incomprehensible, but you take that for granted when you watch this DVD. It's an exciting fusion of pop music and dance. In addition, it is even endearing to see that Byrne herself also just dances a bit, if necessary in a tutu. It is a pity that this experiment, carried out to perfection, is sometimes hindered by Byrne's vocals. He regularly sings out of tune, which gives an extra special effect with his nasal voice. That's the way Byrne gets in the way of his own brilliant idea. (JE)more
