Tiempo Loco means 'crazy, silly time'. In the West we often live in haste, stress and worry. Bandoneonist Carel Kraayenhof and pianist Juan Pablo Dobal want to offer joy and relaxation with their music. So that people can forget about time for a while. They succeed well on this album. Full of fun and craftsmanship, the tango duo plays an arsenal of varied compositions largely by their own hands.
The music exudes humor, zest for life and romance! The CD booklet tells beautiful stories and shows nostalgic (youth) photos. In 2018, Kraayenhof was awarded the Edison Oeuvre Prize for his entire oeuvre and exceptional merit for Dutch music. In 2018 he raised the Carel Kraayenhof Ensemble with a farewell tour after 30 years. But luckily we keep hearing from the top bandoneonist with this tango duo. (SvdP)more
