The 35th edition of Children for Children is all about celebration. And that is of course not for nothing. When VARA's children's choir was founded in 1980, no one could have dreamed that the fun initiative would grow into a very strong brand. The Children's Book Week knocks for the third consecutive year in 2014 for a theme song and the committee behind the King's Games has also been given its own
… number. Children for Children actually always scores. The Feest, produced by Tjeerd Oosterhuis, features a handful of songs that, in good Chamber of Commerce tradition, deal with themes such as divorces and world suffering. The music is sometimes old too, with a few tear-jerking ballads as a highlight. Yet the children also sound very modern with all the pounding beats, raps and squeaky computer voices that entails. In this way, the children's choir keeps up with the times and the brand remains relevant. (JE)more
