The Eindhoven native Peter Koelewijn scores a huge hit with his band The Rockets in 1960 with Kom Van Dak Af, the first Dutch-language rock-roll single ever. When the beat craze erupts for a few years, Koelewijn's career seems to be over. As a producer, however, he turns out to be just as successful, with artists such as Q65 and Ronnie en de Ronnies. … becomes another hit in 1971, a feat that he will repeat twice more with the same song. In the 1970s he picked up his rock and roll career again, with the Rockets becoming increasingly in the background. When things are getting worse as a performing artist, Koelewijn picks up his career as a producer again.
