Pablo was born in 1954 as Horace Swaby in rural Jamaica. Through his classmate Clive Chin, whose parents ran a studio and record, rolled Pablo, a scrawny Rastafari, the music. His instrument was the melodica and his first hit was popular among Java dubproducers who made lots of 'versions' (dubremixen). Pablo mostly worked together with King Tubby with whom he dubklassieker Meets The Rockers Uptown
