Kayak was in the seventies, the flagship of the Dutch prog. The group around keyboardist Schenpenzeel was founded in 1968 in Hilversum. The work of the band joined to that of English bands like Yes and Genesis. Like the latter moved Kayak also increasingly pure prog to a more pop-oriented sound.
