Ruth Jacott (Paramaribo, 1960) moved nine years Age with her parents to the Netherlands. In the late eighties she broke through as an actress in musicals. In 1993 teaches gropte audiences know her when she represents the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest. With the song Peace they finish in a creditable sixth place. In her successful solo albums she combines soul and R & B with Dutch lyrics.
