The Ramblers were in the thirties, the most popular group in the Netherlands. The seven-member group had a wide audience acquainted with swing music. The orchestra, conducted by Theo Uden Masman, was founded in 1926 as a house band of the Amsterdam Cabaret Theater La Gaité. From 1935 the group also plays Dutch repertoire, most written by trumpeter / pianist Jack Bulterman. The real flight began in
… 1933 when The Ramblers were fixed swing orchestra of the VARA. During the Second World War the name, by order of the Germans changed to Theo Uden Masman & His Dance Orchestra. The group continued to play for broadcasting, although two Jewish members were expelled. After liberation, the orchestra received a playing ban of six months. Then joined the group under the name of US Army Band for US and British troops, and grew in popularity again. The best-known songs are Day-rated Bolt, Meet and Loesje Do you remember that evening in the rain. In the early seventies joined the orchestra in the nostalgia circuit and showed the group on TV in the bunch.more
