Ziggi was born in Rotterdam and went on his fourth year at St. Eustatius. As a boy he sang here in the Seven Day Adventist church. Soon discovered the congregation that the young lad had a beautiful voice. But a lot of time to develop this, he did not at that time. His mother took him at age twelve to about Aruba. Six years later Ziggi made the great crossing to the Netherlands to study this technique.
But music was his passion. Inspired by artists such as Beenie Man and Wyclef Jean, he taught himself guitar, bass and piano. He soon found his place in the Dutch music scene. Shortly after he signed his first recording contract with Rock 'N Vibes, Ziggi stopped his training. He only took small side jobs to keep their heads above water.
