Michael Moore (Eureka, USA, 1954) received clarinet lessons from his father. At seventeen he played in local clubs at night, after which he studied in Boston at the New England Conservatory. As a member of the orchestra of the theater group The Salt Lake Mime Troupe he played in Europe, where he stayed around 1977. He played on the street and with Gijs Hendriks, Misha Mengelberg and Guus Janssen.
He also wrote music for dance and theater. In 1986 he received the Boy Edgar prize for his contribution to Dutch jazz and improvised music.more
