David Owen Mackay (March 24, 1932 – July 29, 2020) was an American jazz pianist, singer-composer with roots in the works of Art Tatum, Bud Powell, and Bill Evans, who favored the standards of the 1940s and 1950s and the bossa novas of Luíz Eça, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and João Gilberto when performing.Biography by Rolf Gompertz, Feb., 1974
