It was guitarist Martin van Hees' wish to dedicate an album to Dutch composers. Already during his studies in The Hague he worked together with composing classmates. Like Christiaan Richter, to whose Remgewogen the CD owes its title. What does it mean? Nothing really. The word was gibberish by the autocorrect of a word processing program. Martin van Hees also plays his own work, with striking titles
… like Ikariotikoyunbabarrange and Orewoet. The first title refers to an old Greek dance, the Ikariotiko. Orewoet will be derived from the Middle Dutch of Hadewijch. The nestor of composers from The Hague, Louis Andriessen, is not missing either. From him we hear Triplum (1964). (HJ)more
