Klaas Bolt, who died in 1990, was one of the most important figures in the Dutch organ world of his time, who enjoyed great authority with regard to the preservation of historic organs. He was also a leading educator and improviser. "Klaas Bolt was one of the organists with great artistic and pedagogical visions, with a healthy skepticism about fashion and a fine nose for new developments. He was
… a man of integration, someone with great authority, whose loss now, ten years after his death is more tangible than ever, "said the well-known organist Harald Vogel. As "in memoriam" Lindenberg released a number of CDs with historical recordings by Klaas Bolt. The CD "Klaas Bolt inspired by Arp Schnitger" (clx2691) contains works by Buxtehude, Bach, Böhm and Sweelinck. These are recordings of the Schnitger organs in Groningen (Der Aa-Kerk), Uithuizen, Godlinze and Nieuw Scheemda. The recordings of the last three organs have been taken from an LP, because the original audio tapes have been lost. When digitizing these recordings, the sound has been stripped of scratches and ticks as much as possible. The CD "Freu dich sehr, o meine Seele" contains recordings of the Hinz organ of the Bovenkerk in Kampen and the Bätz organ of the Grote Kerk in Harderwijk. The program includes works by Böhm, Walther, Wilhelm Friedemann Bach and Adriaan C. Schuurman, among others. This CD ends with an improvisation of more than fifteen minutes on Psalm 108.
