If you think Hans Teeuwen's absurd humor is too crude, then be sure to skip the theater performances of the Twente cabaret artist, writer and singer André Manuel. Subtlety is hard to find with this professional provocateur who views raw reality with cynical humor. Manuel's motto is 'Anything is possible tonight, it's theater' and that means that there are no limits to humor, which in his opinion
… must be at the expense of others. In his ninth theater performance Lazarus, death and resurrection are a common thread. Manuel gives his unvarnished opinion on all kinds of current affairs, and everyone gets it down: Christians, Jews, Muslims, women and men. But through the grossness you can taste Manuel's great social commitment: he holds up a mirror to the audience and shows us the pitch-black side of reality. (SvdP)more
