Despite his still youthful appearance, American blues musician Eric Bibb is now 72 years old, of which he has been on stage for more than 50. With his warm, calm voice, he is above all a storyteller. Bibb has lived in Scandinavia for many years, so it is not surprising that he is releasing a live album recorded in Stockholm. Bibb played a concert there with a very extensive formation, which included
… room for a string quartet, fiddle, kora, harp and several guest artists. Thus, the songs from Bibb's extensive repertoire, which are very strong on their own, are provided with additional timbres, as heard, for example, on the beautiful Rosewood. But on songs like Whole World's Got The Blues, he sticks to a more traditional blues setting. Bibb remains a musician with a very personal sound that appeals not only to blues fans, but also to a much wider audience. (JV)more
