Guitarist Howard Alden, bassist Michael Moore, drummer Al Harewood and guest tenorist / flutist Frank Wess have paid tribute to the work of pianist Bill Evans with this CD. It is striking how good Evans' compositions can sound without the use of a piano. Beautiful melodies, combined with improvisation. And Alden does not hide his own ideas about Evans' music either.
