With his ferocious fusion jazz rock, Black Light is reminiscent of albums like Birds Of Fire (1973) and
… Between Nothingness & Eternity (1973) by his former band. His nimble guitar clusters mainly duel with the drums of Ranjit Barot, as he once did with Billy Cobham. Abstract grooves and hectic passages succeed each other in waves. But that's it, because it doesn't really want to get off the ground. The (spiritual) content of the past is missing.
