Krokofant rages on on this follow-up to their from 2014. This Norwegian trio doesn't seem bothered by any jazz or rock convention and mainly does what it pleases. Three skilled musicians, on sax, drums and electric guitar, thus create a cauldron of prog rock, seventies jazz rock and free jazz: as without a spiritual side and as without sensitive passages. Hectic riffs and different time signatures tumble over each other and end up in screeching solos or heavy portions of controlled chaos. The only thing you can do as a listener is to go along with that energy, at a loud volume. As a listening plate, Krokofant II lacks the necessary dynamics. (MR)more
