The French saxophonist Samy Thiébault is a colorful figure who has been active in the French jazz world since the early noughties and is slowly becoming more and more famous beyond it. As the son of Moroccan-French parents, he took music courses in Bordeaux and Paris. In addition, he obtained a university degree in philosophy. … the collaboration of ) have a strong personal and philosophical basis and combine his North African background with a strong love for . Elements that also return on Symphonic Tales, his first album with a full orchestra. Music that sometimes rocks and sways like Egyptian show music and at other times winks at bombastic Hollywood film music. The leading role always remains for Thiébault's moody and elaborate play.
