Trumpeter Charles Tolliver was associated with the label in the 1960s , where he entered as a member of . In the 1970s he founded his own label Strata East Records, which put him at the forefront of free jazz and spiritual jazz of the time. … is Tolliver's first quintet album in decades and was recorded in London with a group of New York musicians. Special guest is saxophonist Binker Golding from the aforementioned young London scene. It became an accessible bop album with four drawn-out, strongly rhythmic compositions. Tolliver's playing has lost none of its power in whimsical duets with Golding and alto saxophonist Jesse Davis.
