An inspiring, peaceful world fusion of traditional African music with contemporary jazz. In 2009, Cuban pianist and composer Omar Sosa toured East Africa. He traveled successively through Madagascar, Zambia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Burundi, Kenya and Mauritius. During his tour he met many traditional musicians. His sound engineer Patrick Destandeau made field recordings of their musical performances. It
… wasn't until 2018 that Sosa started working with those recordings. In a non-negligent way, he complements the music with subtle playing on acoustic piano, kalimba and keyboard. In this way, he creates an equal fabric of creative expressions from diverse artists. The final mix was made in Paris with the collaboration of co-producer and percussionist Steve Argüelles and multi-instrumentalist Christophe "Disco" Minck. (SvdP)more
