An orchestra, according to Nils Petter Molvaer, is "simply the most beautiful thing the Western world has left us. So when the famous Norwegian trumpeter was asked if he would perform his own songs with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, it was "a dream come true. At the same time, the request presented him with a hefty challenge. To begin with, to choose those songs that could be suitable to perform
… with an orchestra. That selection led to a nice cross-section of Molvaar's extensive oeuvre; from On Stream from breakthrough album Khmer (1998) and Kakonita from Solid Ether (2000) to LCY Altitude and Sabkah from Hamada (2009). Each of the songs is highly meditative in nature and at times almost unrecognizable.
