An emerging Dutch jazz singer is Yvonne Walter. After her good debut "Close Enough", there is now an excellent successor: "Thrills". For the 12 songs on this album, Walter wrote the music and the lyrics himself. And these are very worthwhile! The excellent recordings for the Mons Records label took place in Max Bolleman's Studio 44 in Monster. The CD starts with a swinging song, "Confusion"; Also
… nice and swinging are "Splash", "Hopper blues", "Had to be late", "Do it" and "Bebop bizznizz". A fine Latin song is "Summer Sunday. For the rest this CD contains quiet songs / ballads, such as the beautiful" When love grows old "and" I've got a smile ". The accompaniment on this CD by Walter is fine: Willem Ouwerkerk (trumpet / flugelhorn), Kurt Van Herck (tenor saxophone), Rob van den Broeck (piano), Peter Mingaars (guitar), Hein van de Geyn (bass) and Hans van Oosterhout (drums / percussion).
