Tim McGraw knows what a successful country record should sound like in America today. A Place in the Sun entered the country charts there in first place. Due to its mix of polished sounding country ballads, pop and country rock, the record is almost a copy of its predecessor Everywhere. Nevertheless, A Place in the Sun is quite a good record with radio-friendly ballads such as My Best Friend,
… Somebody's must be Prayin 'for me, Some Things Never Change and You don't love me anymore, the duet with Patty Loveless. Please Remember Me and the more uptempo Something Like That has enough strong songs. (CK)more
