Mary Guibert, Jeff Buckley's mother, and Michale Tighe, his band's guitarist, compiled the live album Mystery White Boy from countless recordings made during concerts in 1995 and 1996. Although the sound quality is variable, the concerts were recorded on two tracks directly from the mixing console, the album clearly shows how happy the people who saw Jeff Buckley perform during one of his few visits

At one moment small and fragile, then again big and compelling, he and his band play very inspired versions of songs from Grace (Mojo Pin, Last Goodbye, Grace), unexpected covers (in the Leonard Cohen song Hallelujah there is a piece I Know It's Over by The Smiths) and compositions that have not been released on CD before.
