If we don't count the many compilation albums and remix projects, this is the third album by German techno pioneer and DJ Paul Van Dyk. Out There And Back opens quietly with the ambient-like track Vega. Then, as if it were a DJ performance in a Berlin club, he speeds up the pace with Pikes. The middle section of the CD contains the previously released songs Another way, Avenue and Tell Me Why (The
… Riddle). In total the album contains twelve mostly instrumental songs, which have been seamlessly mixed together. The somewhat unimaginative booklet accompanying the CD provides little information. Paul Van Dyk does take extensive space to thank his new wife Natascha. (MvP) _more
