… Head would not be a one-day-fly and - although albums like The More Things Change and Burning Red never reached the expected level again - the band remained unabatedly popular. On Supercharger, some of the songs go back to Burn My Eyes: the songs sound energetic and less complicated than before. The organic sound is partly the result of the analog recording equipment used. All in all, Machine Head seems to have pulled itself out of the doldrums a bit on Supercharger and there is another upward trend. (RWK)more
