The story of the Californian Hoobastank reads like a boy's book. They meet at school, start a band, release a CD independently and are picked up by a major record company. The self-titled debut was produced by Jim Wirt, who previously had Incubus under his wing. The fact that the band still makes good music is a bonus. The band sounds modern and leans against the nu-metal sound of Papa Roach and
… POD, but luckily has enough face to resist the comparison. So far there was success with the single Crawling In The Dark, but songs like Remember me and Ready For You also have musical quality in addition to hit potential. Nice band. (RWK)more
