Timo Maas was a mobile phone salesman for nine years before he could finally work full-time as a DJ. Since the early nineties, in addition to his appearances as a DJ, he has released many 12 ā€¯vinyl records, which without exception did well in the underground dance scene. Maas from Hanover has slowly worked his way up in the music world. After countless remix jobs (for Madonna, Kelis and Placebo
… among others) and two mix albums, Loud is his first full-fledged CD with only his own work. Like his colleague Roger Sanchez, Timo Maas knows how to combine the best of progressive house with a more commercial approach; the record sounds accessible without getting too flat anywhere. The construction is also perfectly fine; the plate continues to captivate its full length. Cooperation is provided by Kelis, Finley Quaye and the German singer Martin Beddinghaus. (MS)more
