David Holmes' sound is rooted in the work of classic film composers such as Lalo Schifrin, John Barry and Ennio Morricone, as well as raw jazz, funk, soul and blues, created in the heyday of LSD. His versatility is evidenced by the wide variety of artists for which he was responsible for the production or the remixes, such as Fila Brazillia, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Manic Street Preachers, Primal
… Scream, Red Snapper, Jon Spencer Blues Band and Therapy ?. In addition, he has recently been receiving many requests from Hollywood to compose soundtracks as he did for Out Of Sight and Ocean's Eleven. Sick of the ease with which most compilation CDs are put together, Holmes decided to do it his way. On Come Get It I Got It he tells his story by selecting some twenty gems from his extensive vinyl collection and 'electronizing' them by overdubs. Under the name The Free Association he composed the connecting pieces to make the whole run even smoother. Come Get It I Got It offers not only a deeper insight into Holmes' mind, but also an amazing listening adventure. (AD)more
