Producer RJD2 (ex-Megahertz) delivers his first solo album with Deadringer, but he has already made an impression with contributions to compilations of renowned hip-hop labels such as Rawkus and Definitive Jux. … that is a fruitful marriage. Above all, RJD2 is a producer, there is hardly any rapping on his own productions. Due to the cinematic nature of the songs, his record sounds like the soundtrack of a (non-existing) hip-hop movie. The tracks sound raw, but are very refined on closer inspection.
