As a DJ / producer / label owner, Adam Beyer has largely made his mark on Sweden's techno sound. The records of his Drumcode label, founded in 1996, which also includes fellow Swedes such as Cari Lekebusch, Oliver Ho and Thomas Krome, are in great demand in the techno scene all over the world. His debut Decoded was released in 1996, followed a year later by Recoded, the remix album. Ignition Key
… digs a lot deeper into Adam Beyer's brain, because this CD seems to float rather than stomp. Ranging from light hypnotic tech-house via electro to downtempo and even ambient, Beyer takes the listener on a cosmic gliding flight. Of course the heavier work is not forgotten, but this is limited to two songs (Flamethrower, Second Serrounding) in which Beyer goes back to the old-fashioned way like a meteor shower that disrupts this space adventure in an appropriate way. With this, Ignition Key will appeal to many more listeners than lovers of the compressed Swedish techno sound. (AD)more
