In 2000 the At The Drive-in album Relationship Of Command was released. The CD was received very well in the press and there was a huge hype around the Texan emo-core company. Despite the success, the group split up in March 2001 and two new groups emerged, Sparta and The Mars Volta. On their first full-length CD De-loused In The Comatorium, a concept album about a friend in a coma, Bixler and Rodriguez once again prove that their musical ideas are more than just banging on guitars and they mix ao free jazz, psychedelia, ambient and punk. This is De-loused In The Comatorium, (produced by Rick Rubin) has turned out to be an interesting but not necessarily good CD because Bixler and Rodriguez remain the best when they go on the emo-core tour. In any case, the album is good for another huge hype. Incidentally, Flea from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers played the bass parts. (IV)more
