Kurt Wagner, Lambchop's foreman, has delivered a special performance. The San Francisco International Film Festival asked him to create a soundtrack for FW Murnau's 1927 classic silent film Sunrise. Aw C'Mon and No You C'Mon feature parts of the soundtrack but not all songs were suitable for the two albums. Wagner's whisper vocals are very characteristic of the record, although the majority of the
… songs are instrumental. Lloyd Barry's rich string arrangements give the CD a sunny, musical-like touch. The two atmospheric CDs are not fundamentally different from each other, the music continues to flow and there are no real highlights. Soul and country lovers will get their money's worth. After all, Lambchop is often described as 'country-soaked soul music' and there is not a word of it. (JdD)more
