In the male-dominated English blues scene of the 1960s, singer and keyboardist Christine Perfect was an outsider. The great success came after she joined Fleetwood Mac, the group of her later husband John McVie, with whom she made the successful albums Rumors (1977), Tusk (1979) and Tango In The Night (1987). As a composer, Christine was responsible for pop classics such as Don't Stop, Songbird,
… You Make Loving Fun and Little Lies. In 1997 she left the group and returned to England from Los Angeles. Although she intended to leave the business for good, the blood was crawling where it couldn't go. Her brother's son, guitarist Dan Perfect, introduced her to the wonderful world of the computer program Pro-Tools, which allowed her to produce this album herself in her own environment. The twelve melodic new songs on In the Meantime are immediately familiar, although this time the emphasis is more on guitar than on keyboards. Those who missed Christine's contributions on the Fleetwood Mac album Say You Will (2003) can indulge themselves with In The Meantime. (MS)more
