After fifteen years, the Hartnoll brothers call it quits: Orbital is no more. With Blue Album they officially say goodbye to their audience in the best Orbital tradition. Their warm and intelligent techno will not be able to offer the die-hard Orbital fans much more surprises, but that is not necessary on a farewell album. Blue Album starts very moody in ambience spheres to work very slowly towards
… a climax. Orbital has again managed to attract a number of notable vocalists. Ron and Russell Mael, better known as the , can be heard on the hard house / acid combination Acid Pants, actor Cristopher Eccleston gives an over the top speech about the breakbeat of You Lot, and Lisa Gerard of close the CD with the typical Orbital stunner One Perfect Sunrise. In between, a striking number of relaxing moments of wonderful beauty. We will miss Orbital very much. (AD)more
