Therapy? hasn't made pop singles like Diane and Stories (both from 1995's ) for years. The Irish band members declared that they were fed up and decided to slow down. The band went back to small venues and the songs got rougher. Andy Cairns seems to have deliberately deteriorated over the years. Therapy? on Never Apologise Never Explain sounds like a garage band and yes, that includes unsteady
… vocals. The pointed punk and metal songs are peppered with a good dose of energy and rancidity. For whom the history of Therapy? this album is quite nice, but for the insiders the comparison with the earlier work is against Never Apologize Never Explain. (JdD)more
