Punk rock band Pennywise became known among the California skate / surf crowd in the 1990s. The first three albums were especially successful: Pennywise ('91), Unknown Road ('93) and About Time ('95). The sing-along song Brohymn became a hit with the festival audience, and later it was even turned into a gabber song in the Netherlands. … the same up-tempo punk with socially critical lyrics for years. Foreman Jim Lindberg is never afraid to learn against 'corperate America' and all its excesses. Not much news on The Fuse either: the same intention and the same kind of songs. The question is whether Pennywise still appeals to new people with their music. Yet there is also a large fan base who continues to support the band. For them, The Fuse is of course again an 'old-fashioned Pennywise record'. (JdD)more
