Behind the name Ghost Trucker some semi-famous figures from the Amsterdam indie scene are hidden. The major initiator of the project is Roald van Oosten, Caesar's foreman, who started it during a 'sabbatical year'. Other band members are Asta Kat (ex-Zoppo, ex-Seesaw), Ralph Mulder (Alamo Race Track) and Rik Elsgeest (ex-Kopna Kopna). In addition, a whole laundry list of names from the entourage of
… these and other local bands provided guest contributions. The typical vocal lines betray the hand of Van Oosten, but the musical interpretation is a lot more adventurous than the stylish indie rock that we know from Caesar. Rhythms and sounds from (downtempo) electronica form a bond with sober guitar and drum work in thirteen catchy pop songs. Although some pieces have lingered in sketches (Under The Stars), it should be clear that in the 'sabbatical year' the creative juices of Roald van Oosten have started flowing again. With a little help from his friends. (MS)more
