XYP consists of three boys and three girls from England, Wales, Scotland and the Netherlands. XYP is promoted with the slogan 'real music from real musicians', which means that they write and compose their own songs, in their joint home in Amsterdam. The Dutch part in XYP is represented by Iris van Kempen (once Children for Children), former conservatory student Christon Kloosterboer and Bart Voncken,
… who we might know from the Starmaker program and the band K-Otic. For their debut CD, some well-known names from the British pop world were attracted to write songs, such as Gary Barlow (Take That) and Eliot Kennedy, who previously worked with Spice Girls and Atomic Kitten. That already gave XYP the first number 1 hit with Body To Body. The debut album Confessions contains flawlessly performed pop songs that will undoubtedly appeal to a large target group. (IV)more
