The readers of the quality English newspaper The Guardian shouted Does It Offend You, Yeah? out to the worst band name in pop history. The young company from Reading was not interested in this and played at a number of major summer festivals shortly after their foundation. The enthusiastic local music press stopped DIOYY? in the hip box of the 'new rave', together with classmates such as Klaxons
… and Trash Fashion. The band combines the angular rhythms and screaming vocals of the post-punk / new wave with the madness and grunting synthesizers of the rave / acid house. A nice blunt sound which is English in every pore. In Dawn Of The Dead (the strange song titles and artwork of this album are inspired by old horror movies) the band sounds like a fresh boy band from the eighties.
