Kasba is a multicultural band from Boxtel that brings swinging and compelling music in 'tajine style', a tasty mix of gnawa, reggae, raï and rock. The band had been playing happily for years, at all kinds of festivals, but became widely known for their performance in the Amsterdam Arena in 2002, on the eve of the wedding of Prince Willem Alexander and Princess Máxima. … album Sidi Yahya was released and in 2003 the second album Chouf Chouf was released. Tours through Morocco followed, collaborations with various Dutch artists and even a documentary 'Kasba in de polder'. The music on the third album ZigZag is again a harmonious combination of Moroccan and Western instruments, rhythms and styles. Illegal is the only song that is not exclusively sung in Arabic, but also in French and Dutch (by guest singer Tjerk Schoonheim); a plea for tolerance and against thinking in boundaries and boxes.
