All good things come to an end. But for the young Gelderland rock band Good Things End, everything starts well with this debut, produced by star producer Oscar Holleman. GTE is a real family business, where the three Schiphorst brothers (Iwan, Cyriel, Dave) lay the solid foundation for the clear singing of sister Colette. Father is thanked in the liner notes for driving to the gigs, with Mum always
… providing enough beers in the backpack for the return trip. All care and guidance turned out not to be in vain. The self-composed I Know was picked up by TMF, who included them in their Kweekvijver for new talent. For the debut album, the band contacted experienced songwriters such as Frans Vermast (Rosemary's Sons, Nailpin), David Clarkson and Rene Merkelbach. The result is an album on which the pop feeling of The Cranberries and the bombast of Within Temptation form a hit-sensitive alliance. Out Of Nowhere does not excel in originality, but is certainly a professional business card. (MS)more
